“If I were asked to choose my university programme again, GLEF would still be my first and only choice, without hesitation. During my GLEF journey, I gained solid knowledge about my career, met the right people for my future life, and participated in many wonderful experiences that I will never forget.

My job, investment research, requires me to think with a mindset that combines science and art. During my Finance and Accounting courses, I learned the concrete basis of the common language of the business world. In most cases, you can find the right answers here. It is science. In addition, the Economics courses gave us ample training to rethink our assumptions, especially the multiple outcomes based on a different set of realistic assumptions. This part is closer to art. This training gave me the right frame of mind to think rigorously and independently. This is essential for my career. I am glad I chose GLEF over pure finance.

Moreover, the culture in this programme is friendly and cooperative. As a person coming from Taiwan and not knowing anything about Cantonese, I experienced zero feelings of exclusion and 100% inclusion from my classmates. I love the atmosphere of this programme. People are ready to help each other, which creates a positive cycle for everyone to grow.

It is an honour to be part of the GLEF family! Thank you, Global Economics and Finance programme.”
