Rachel Kuo – Goldman Sachs

‘During the summer in 2022, I joined the Goldman Sachs for their summer apprentice programme organized by the Private Wealth Management Association. The internship journey in the Consumer and Wealth Management Division was wonderful and rewarding, and I had ample of opportunities to learn the “front-to-back” operations in the private wealth management business. Goldman Sachs is a dually registered investment advisor and broker-dealer, and it values the clients' relationships and aims to provide top-notch client services and products to best serve their needs.

In the 9-week of internship with Goldman Sachs, I was actively involved in the products management, onboarding process and client servicing. Moreover, I was given a lot of chances to do networking and expand my social circle. These opportunities not only had widened my industry knowledge, but also allow me to better formulate my career path.

On top of that, the internship experience also taught me the importance of soft skills in workplace. For instance, the firm encourages its staff to be willing to speak up and to be vocal. A lot of seniors shared with me that the firm listened to their opinions and career aspirations, and they welcomed anyone to be proactive to take up more responsibilities and share their views.

Lastly, I would like to extend my gratitude to my seniors and colleagues who pushed and supported me throughout the whole internship journey. I would not have accomplished the success without their guidance and support.’
