Eureka HON – Hang Seng Bank

“Hang Seng Bank, which is an affiliate of HSBC, is one of the most long-standing domestic banks in Hong Kong. It has been providing excellent banking services to customers since 1933. Though the bank has demonstrated strong position in the banking industry, it continuously seeks for betterment in enhancing its footprint day by day with a superior consciousness.

Having worked in such a professional and performance-driven company, I have equipped myself with industry knowledge and positive working attitude throughout the 6-month internship at relationship management department of Global Banking Division. I have gathered different hands-on experiences within the department, ranging from handling credit application to conducting financial analysis.

University life could pose different meanings to students, some may focus on academic achievement, some may engage deeply in society affairs while some may concentrate in part-time jobs. Looking back, I am so glad that I have challenged myself in the above areas, leaving a remarkable one in my life journey.

The most memorable one happened in my year 3 university life. I left my hometown and participated an exchange program in the US from January to May 2017. Despite the fruitful exchange life at Northeastern University, one thing bothered me the most was how to spend my summer vacation afterwards. At first, I planned to attend summer job once I return to Hong Kong. I applied for several summer internships but got no feedback. Realizing most of the companies do not consider oversees applicants, I turned to Co-op program organized by the banking sector. Eventually, I accepted this 6-month internship offer. As a final year student, I would also like to express my gratitude on the GLEF program.”
