Noky CHEUNG – HSBC

“From August 2017 to January 2018, I was given the opportunity to intern as the Co-op Student Trainee in the Global Risk Analytic function in HSBC. This is a very valuable experience for me as the 6-month period allows me to be fully immersed into an international bank’s operations and has enhanced my knowledge of the financial industry.

Through the various projects and responsibilities in my internship, I have developed an in-depth understanding about credit risks of a bank. This includes but not limited to credit risk models, policies, considerations, provision on loss and regulatory requirements. With the help from my manager and colleagues, I have also honed my soft skills of communicating and collaborating with different parties throughout the internship. This experience has widened my horizon of the banking industry and helped me to further affirm my interest in this area. I believe this internship would flourish my work experience and plays a very important role in my future career development.

GLEF has also prepared me to be ready for this internship opportunity, and I believe the capstone course could let students plan their career ahead.”
